The coat of arms features a patriarchal cross positioned above three hills [...] based on an existing 14th-century coat of arms of Hungary, while enlarging the three hills to emphasize it as a national symbol. A white-blue-red horizontal tricolor bears the national coat of arms - a patriarchal double cross on three hills, based on a 14th-century coat of arms of Hungary with the three hills enlarged as a national symbol - offset toward the hoist, adopted in 1992.
