Symbolism and history(r1)

A yellow triangle whose three points stand for the three constituent peoples (Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs) and whose shape approximates the country's territory sits beside a blue field of white stars, introduced by the UN High Representative in 1998 after the Parliament could not agree on a flag.
