What the law specifies[1]

Article 15 of the Constitution states, in full: "Valstybės vėliavos spalvos – geltona, žalia, raudona" — the colours of the State flag are yellow, green, red. The article fixes the three colours and nothing else; the proportions (3:5) are set by the separate flag statute, not by this constitutional article, and so are not verified here.

Symbolism and history

A plain yellow-green-red horizontal tricolor, first adopted on 25 April 1918, suppressed under Soviet rule, and restored on 18 November 1988 ahead of the re-establishment of independence.
